IRCC 2019 KCL Topic for Simulation Exercises is Now Announced

November 14, 2018

We are glad to announce that the topic for the IRCC 2019 KCL simulation exercises has now been selected. It is inspired by the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) 63 conference which will take place in March 2019 and is as follows:

Social protection: towards gender equality
Delivering social protection systems, public services and sustainable infrastructure for the empowerment of women and girls

At the IRCC participants will be divided into groups, each group will be appointed as a Task Team from a specific Member State (to be announced later) and asked to propose concrete evidence-based policies (Day 2: Research and Policy Recommendations), design feasible project proposals (Day 3: Project Management) and design effective communication strategies (Day 4: Campaign and Outreach) that promote gender equality and women’s empowerment through the development of inclusive and sustainable social protection, infrastructure and public services.

The deliverables will be presented in front of a panel of guest speakers who will be advising students on the feasibility and applicability of the outcomes.
